What I Offer
Therapy is a safe place to share, ponder, question and grieve, and it can become a regular practice of understanding yourself more deeply. By reflecting on past experiences, we can develop awareness of emotions, parts of ourselves and patterns that no longer serve us in our present life. By exploring how we could see life and ourselves from new perspectives, we can work towards new goals, make changes and gain a new sense of purpose.
My Approach
I take a holistic perspective to the challenges we face in life and I believe that crisis can often be an opportunity for growth. By working at depth and getting to know the whole self - mind, body and spirit - we can find greater meaning in our day-to-day existence. Psychotherapy is not about an “expert” telling you what to do but a counsellor walking alongside you listening closely, offering understanding, and supporting you to create a life you find fulfilling.
A good therapeutic relationship encourages the innate healing capacity within you. I aim to create a nurturing environment where we bring awareness to what you are feeling. When we tune in and listen carefully to our inner wisdom it can help get to the root of things. We’ll team up - I will meet you in your struggles with my own wisdom and experience and there is also plenty of space for joy and laughter to have a place.
I incorporate insights from transpersonal and existential philosophy, psychodynamic theory and attachment, Gestalt therapy, child development theories and Internal Family Systems (IFS). The transpersonal dimension of my work includes a spiritual perspective; the soul’s search for healing. Alongside traditional talking therapy, in your sessions, this can include guided meditations, breathing exercises, visualisations, working with art and exploring dreams.
